"Faculty of Dentistry International Online Symposium" was Held at our University

In celebration of the 95th anniversary of the foundation of our University, Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry organized the " Faculty of Dentistry International Online Symposium". The program, which was carried out with the special theme of "Contemporary Approaches in Clinical Dentistry Practice", lasted for two days. In the program, which was attended by 13 international and national researchers and clinicians from 7 different countries, the most common difficulties faced by dentists during clinical interventions, the latest developments in all areas of dentistry and new technologies were discussed through a scientific platform.

After a minute of silence for Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and our sacred martyrs and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem, the opening speeches began. In his speech Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız touched on the effects of the COVID-19 global epidemic. Emphasizing that the global epidemic has disrupted both academic studies and procedures for patient treatment in terms of dentistry, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said, "However, if we look on the positive side, professional congresses, where professional knowledge sharing and social relations between colleagues are at the forefront, can now be held in an online environment both in greater numbers and more easily and, most importantly, in scientific platforms where a wider range of international participation can be achieved. .

Stating that the “Faculty of Dentistry International Online Symposium” was organized within the scope of the 95th anniversary of our University, Our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız said that our university is hosting a large number of participants from 7 different countries. Hoping that the event will be a pleasent and successful event, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız concluded his speech with the words "information increases as it is shared".

Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Mr. Kahraman Güngör started his speech by thanking the participants of the symposium. Stating that they hosted 13 international and national researchers and clinicians from 7 different countries including India, USA, England, Pakistan, Greece, Italy and Turkey, Prof. Dr. Kahraman Güngör said, “We will listen to fascinating presentations on extraordinary topics from reputable speakers. The most common challenges facing dentists during clinical interventions, the latest developments and new technologies in all areas of dentistry will be discussed."

Dean Prof. Dr. Kahraman Güngör, thanked our Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız for his support in the organization.

Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Özgür İlke Atasoy Ulusoy, on the other hand, said that she very happy to be a part of this organization as deputy dean of Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry, where she graduated.

The symposium began after the opening speeches.
